- Lead with pipeline and revenue numbers. Marketing exists to generate demand. If you can show that your work produced $3.4M in pipeline or 1,800 MQLs, lead with that. Brand awareness metrics are fine as supporting evidence, but pipeline impact is what gets you interviews.
- Name every tool you actually use. ATS systems match on "HubSpot," "Google Analytics," "Salesforce," and "SEMrush" — not on "marketing automation platform" or "analytics tool." Be explicit about your stack. If you've used it for more than a month, list it.
- Show full-funnel thinking. The strongest marketing resumes show work across awareness (SEO, social), consideration (content, nurture), and conversion (landing pages, A/B tests). If you only show top-of-funnel work, hiring managers will assume that's all you can do.
- Include cost metrics alongside growth metrics. Saying you "grew leads" without mentioning cost-per-lead or budget constraints is incomplete. "Reduced CPL from $82 to $34 on a $45K/month budget" tells the full story and signals financial accountability.
